Why does travel stress us?

Air travel gets you to a new time zone at a faster rate than your body clock can adjust. The main body clock is under the control of the pineal gland and is modified by daylight patterns, however the main disruptive effects of such rapid travel are on the physical cycles such as digestion, hormone secretion and the sleep cycle.
